Where does spaghetti sauce go?

On the floor & ceiling, but of course!

I wasn't going to post today until...

Photobucket

I tired to be all tough while cooking dinner and opened the spaghetti jar all by myself. Maybe next time I'll first seek for help.

Not only did it get on my shoes, the floor, dishwasher, walls & the pantry, it also got on my husband and the ceiling!!

Really? Like, Really?!!

I had my mom and hubby help clean the mess up because tackling it all on my own was impossible. I actually managed to spill more then half the jar, but there was enough left for dinner. My mom and Augustin had a great laugh. I guess I had to laugh at it too in the end. I wouldn't cry over spilt milk and I don't cry over spilt spaghetti sauce either.

I put up my first Christmas decoration. The whole house is usually decorated right after Thanksgiving, but with the move and it being pushed back, it's just not happening this year. Some is better then none!

I did manage to have some fun with my son before he got into more trouble, which I will get into later.

He is just so cute! While I was setting up the camera and while the self-timer was going he didn't move from his spot or didn't look away from the camera until it snapped. He loves the camera to my upper joy. I hope all my kids will be like that.

Now I have some great pics of us together. Those are hard to come by in my line of work. I'm usually behind the camera, but I do love my moment to shine.

So we skipped the shoes today and went straight for the diapers. There is now a pile of diapers behind my desk on the floor. I don't get the fascination with taking things out and throwing them all over the place. It's been awhile since I was that small.

To top my night off, while I was on the phone with a client Little Guy decided he needed to be watered. I usually let him play with the, I don't know what it's called in English so let's call it a water spout. It's also usually empty. Someone had forgot to pour the water out and left it right where my son could get to it and guess what? He did, to my utter shock! As I'm writing this he is trying to eat paper. Are all boys like this?

You can say, "It's been one of those days." Despite that I'm smiling through it all and being positive. All this mess sure makes a great blog today, the day I wasn't going to do one.

Back in the swing of things

Expect the fact that I am missing appointments unknowingly and eating chocolate. I usually do not like chocolate, but these truffles are just melting in my mouth!

Today has been one of those days where I forget that I really do around here. I mean I browsed some blogs, uploaded some pictures, edited some more, but then what? I just couldn't remember. Maybe it was the fact that the kitchen was clean through me off?

Since I didn't remember what it was that I did, Augustin & I watched The Classic Baby on YouTube while  waving our hands all crazy to the music.

Luckily my new camera lens had finally arrived! It sure did give me something to do this evening.

Practice Pictures!!

I have a feeling that the 50mm f.1/8 & I are going to get along very nicely in fact a little bit too nicely that I might have to ignore my other lenses for the time being.

Well my Little Guy had a great day today. He went on a walk, took long naps, laughed enthusiastically, played with Daddy & threw my shoes around.

Right when I would line them back in their spot, guess who would crawl on by?

He eat Borscht...

Played with my scarf that he found out of my suitcase...

Played with Dad, well Hubby played with him...

He even got a bath that socked Hubby's dress shirt completely...

And then to end it all we laughed and jumped around until he "lost" his dinner.

Photobucket

The greatest part about today was having him stand on his own for a whole minute so that he could use both hands to clap and jump all at the same time. He was much more successful then I would have ever imagined!

Yupe, I feel like I am home.

A Destination Unknown

There are some things in life that are so beautiful & perfect, when everything "alines with the stars" as some people say. Have you ever had those moments in your life?

I would say that this whole weekend was a great moment of my stars being alined in a 'picturesque' manner.

I'll start from our Thanksgiving with my family….

This year has been the second year that we have celebrated Thanksgiving as a family and our fourth year without my sister-in-law and nephews. It was too hard to have a Thanksgiving with them missing. We held the dinner at my brothers rebuilt home. Thanks to all of those who have donated and helped rebuild the ruins of my brothers house.

A more detailed post will come one the restoration of his house.

As we sat and eat dinner I couldn't help, but notice how small we have become as a family. It's supposed to have been eleven of us all together, not eight of us. The missing presence of the three are felt strongly and deeply. It cuts so deep that nothing will be the same, no amount of tears  will change it.

Despite the fact that we no longer have a big part of our family with us we still had to make the best of it and I believe we did. We had a very tasty dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, beet salad, mushroom salad, greens beans and cheesecake for dessert. Our wonderful traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

We even took a walk after dinner in Kirkland downtown to make room for dessert, but by far my favorite part was when we all played 'Uno' together as a family. My family has never played that game before! It was great to laugh with them as they kept drawing those cards. I love moments like these.

It was painful to watch home video's of Justin, Andrew and Olga, as if they had never been murdered. It brought us to tears as we laughed with them in the video.

Now on to the big surprise!

Two words Whidbey Island. Other words are good food, private location, & a town frozen in time. Who knew it had so much to offer?!

The place my hubby was going for the weekend getaway was Whidbey Island. We were only 2 hours away, but it felt like we were somewhere far away from everything and it was. The great part was the drive. Since I know the road to the Island he had to take me through La Conner which confused me quite a bit and he had kept the surprise very well.

The place we stayed us was unreal. Now that we are back and I'm at home writing this I'm starting to wonder if place like that really existed. It's also something you have to experience for yourself.

Photobucket

We stayed at the Carriage Cottage for two. A prefect place for a second honeymoon.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It was a place where ducks followed you for food.

Photobucket

Photobucket

A place where a morning devotion on the swing, surrounded by nature, brought you that much closer to God.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The perfect place for two people to discover each other and themselves.

The Carriage was engulfed with character and charm. It was designed with love, detail & with couples like us in mind.

Once we were settled in Hubby took me out to our first Fine Dining restaurant of the weekend. It was called Frasers. The service was a joy to experience, the courses we delectable & the chef friendly. I'm looking forward to write a review for that restaurant.

Since the cottage was a Bed & Breakfast we got to stay up late and sleep in. Something I've been needing for a long time now. It was great to eat breakfast at the Cottage because we had a great day planned.

The beach. Light lunch. Coupeville. Greenbank Farm. Carriage Cottage.
