Our Easter Weekend

I can't believe Monday has already come to an end and Tuesday is almost upon us. Where did the time go?! I'm still stuck in Thursday.

My calendar has been pretty full this past week and threatening to get even fuller as summer comes. I think I've been out of the house every evening since Wednesday. To me, that's super busy as I work in the evenings at home.

A busy week means a fully loaded post with an over the top amount of images (that made sense in my head). I have so many beautiful pictures to share with all of you, but before I start I hope that everyone has had a great Easter weekend! What did everyone do?

On Saturday, we decided to head over to Mount Vernon for the Tulip Festival. Last year we didn't quite make it all the way there so this year I decided the earlier we go the better chances of us actually making it there. Unfortunately we came a week or two too early because the tulips had yet to blooms. We did get to enjoy the daffodils. I honestly can't complain because it was too crowed for beautiful tulip field pictures anyway. I'm looking on the bright side, now I can go there by myself on a week day (hopefully a foggy morning) and take all the pictures I want while everyone else is at work.

Toddler always loves a trip anywhere. This time he figured out how to open the window with his foot. For a while I couldn't figure out why he wanted me to take his boots off right when he got in the car. I don't know if it's just me, but I think that kid has some brains.

A little side note: if you decide to go to the tulip fields, dress warm! Even on a sunny day like Saturday the wind shows no mercy.

This brings us to our Easter Sunday. Toddler went on his first easter egg hunt. I didn't go all out and give him his own egg hunt in our house (maybe next year), but he did have a mini one at church. I also think he did quite well for not knowing what the heck it was all about. Oh, I did tell hubby that we should have made him go into our backyard to find the chicken eggs our chickens had laid. His surprise inside the eggs? Breakfast, why of course!

After church and our naps (I didn't get one), we went over to my brothers house for dinner. His house sits on a property overlooking a lake. It was beautiful and the sunshine decided to stay an extra day! Our evening consisted of yummy food, walks around the neighborhood and a peaceful evening with the family.

    1. I'm glad you didn't because the tulips aren't really out yet. They will be out in a week or two so you still have time!

  2. These are gorgeous pictures (as always) :) I would take a sunny day + daffodils + no crowds any day over full blown tulip season when you can't even move or walk anywhere. How beautiful!! Glad you guys had a good Easter!
