Nature's Rejected Treasures

I was thinking that after October things would slow down and my schedule would start clearing so that I can focus on taking my son to the parks, playgrounds and museums, but it has not been so. Instead my calendar has been quite exciting with appointments and projects.
Yesterday I had to find some nature's beauty for a project that I'm doing and took my mother and son. It's been such a long time since we've gone somewhere. Our days are spent indoors where I work and Toddler plays with trains. It was so refreshing to be out of the house with my two favorite people.
Toddler and my mom had a blast picking pinecones, giving them a bath and then throwing them into the water. While they played I busied myself with picking little treasures that nature has rejected like pinecones, nuts, and pine. I'm hoping to make time for more adventures. I am so thankful that we are committed to a once-a-week playdate with our dear friends which keeps our week exciting.

  1. Your pictures are very beautiful. And I absolutely love pine cones! I've got a couple from all over the world, namely Sheffield in the UK, Barcelona in Spain and Maenza in Italy :D
