Where I Find My Inspiration

Being inspired is a must for me. If I'm not inspired throughout the day than I'm not really having a good day.

My inspirations come from very simple things. They range from magazines, my flowers on the table, my coffee cup to what I eat that day. The limits are off to what inspires me and everyday its something different.

Today was the first time this week that I truly feel inspired since I started my sugar detox, which has been kicking my butt.

Now that I'm on week 2 of my detox I'm starting to feel a little more like myself, well enough to take out my watercolors and create. I wish that I was more of an artist, but know that comes with time. I'm hoping to take come course sometime in the future.

(Sigh...) I would truly spend my days creating, styling and shooting away with a care in the world.

It's The Little Things

I've exhausted my monthly shopping budget and maybe went a little overboard.

Were those 3 floral dresses worth it? You betcha they were!

I find that my happy place is rummaging through antique stores, thrift shops, going to cafe's with friends, styling my pictures and of course shooting. I feel like that could be everyones sweet spot.

Since I didn't have any money I was happy when I found a $5 bill in my shorts. I packed the car with my son and mom so that we can go find something great with that bill.

We went to Country Village, one of my favorite places along with Snohomish. It turned out that I haven't explored that whole place yet as I had ran into 2 stores we've never been before. It was a happy surprise filled with many beautiful treasure. I even found my dream desk, but it was way to expensive for me right now.

After out naps Toddler got to go out with a friend and play leaving me to work on my inspiration board for a shoot I'm planning next week. I did finish the board (leaving my desk in disarray), but spent the time cleaning and cooking.

My Morning As It Is

So I find myself living in two different worlds; my art world and my reality.

I wish that my world would be how it is in my pictures, meaning my Instagram pictures. I paint the images so perfectly that I myself would love to jump right in and enjoy whatever story my art creates at that moment.

The reality of things is not like I paint in my images. My everyday life is beautiful, full of joy, but not perfect as they are in images.

Here is my morning in the art world:

Now here is how my morning really looked like:

Still beautiful, but not picture perfect although it was a perfect morning for me indeed!

My chickens are not allowed on the deck and this is a huge reason why. Beauty got stuck today!

Trip To The Country

I apologize for being absent for so long. The deadlines got the best of me for the past two weeks. The good news is I'm starting to finally get on top of my deadlines after this week and I'll be back to normal, I hope.

After such a busy week I decided to take my mom and son on a trip to the country while my husband was out-of-town on a business trip. It actually worked all rather well. I got a break from my work, we didn't stay home missing my husband and spent some days in the sun, okay it wasn't always sunny, but it didn't rain and it was so much warmer than Seattle.

This sign seriously makes me laugh every time I drive by it. Really?! Yakima the Palm Springs of Washington?!

It's hard for me to not work while away on a trip, but not having a certain cable to download my images really helped me to stay unplugged while enjoying my time with my family. I think I only opened my computer to register my charge for my phone. Plus now in our day of age we still have our phones that connect us to the outside world. I didn't have the guts to shut that down as I'm addicted to Instagram and coming up with beautiful images is always too much fun.

There were so many wonderful moments during the trip, but one of my favorites was spending the afternoon with some talented photographer friends of mine Michelle and her sister Karen. We had a blast talking at Starbucks, shooting at the arboretum and then we finished our day off with a yummy Mexican dinner. I honestly can say it's always such a blessing when I get to hang out with my photographer friends, they are so inspiring and it's always an honor to rub shoulders with such beautiful women.

The memory I want to keep forever from this trip is when Toddler was climbing up a bicycle to look into a bucket, but dropped his pacifier in it. It was devastating to him, it was also the last pacifier in our house. Now we are managing life without it one day at a time. I guess it's a good way to cut that habit out of his life. Of course there are other memories, but this one is my favorite for sure because I get to tell him this story when he grows up and show him pictures too.

I can talk for hours about our trip, but this blog isn't intended for long posts, but a balance of pictures and words.

Washington Park Arboretum

Yesterday I was hoping that today would be another rain free day. Like always the forecast told me rain with cloudy skies, but when I got up in the morning I didn't see the rain, just the cloudy skies.

So at 9am my mom, Toddler and I started getting ready for another adventure in our favorite part of Seattle (the pretty part).

There are just so many spot starting from the first exit off of the 520 bridge all the way to Seward Park. We can go there everyday for a whole month, but still stumble upon a new place we have yet to go.

Our whole trip today was calm, peaceful and relaxing. I didn't take many pictures, but stepped back and just cherished the moment of the clouds clearing and the sun starting to shine through. I watched as Toddler ran around hunting for sticks, blowing wishes, jumping in mud puddles, chasing dog and playing in the water.

There were so many beautiful trees blooming. The air smelled fresh, fragrant. The trees were bright green from just having spread their branches with leaves. The grass was nice and soft, filled with petals from falling blooms. Even the skies turned a beautiful shade of blue as we were heading home.

I really do love those moments when I can take my son out to enjoy God's glory. He is everywhere to me and I want Toddler to see what I see when I look at His beautiful gift to us. I also feel like I've been a good mommy that day when Toddler gets out of the house to run around, spread his wings and enjoy.
