It's ONE-derful

I'm in love with this picture and the face in it. I can't help, but post it everywhere. This picture decided the little blessing in my life perfectly.

Photobucket

What a great day it was outside! It was simply beautiful. The sun was out shinning perfectly on the snow that still lays on the ground at our house. I wouldn't mind it if the snow decided to not go away until Spring. We just need a good ol' blizzard or two.

Photobucket

With all that snow it just wouldn't have been me without enjoying my cup of tea.

Photobucket

My baby's first birthday party is January 1st. I am very thankful for the people who are gonna be there to share this special moment with my family, it means the world to me.

Photobucket

His real birthday is January 10th, born the day before my birthday. I'm going to post his birth story on his birthday and it's gonna be long and hopefully inspiring. God saved my life after Augustin's birth and I would like to share the miracle with anyone who would like to hear it.

Photobucket

I've been planning his party for some months now. I'm a big party person. I love me a good well planned, fun party. I understand that not everyone is into parties or finds them important, but I like to celebrate and what better way to celebrate then to celebrate a life? The theme is 'Winter ONE-derland' with blue, silver and white.

Despite the fact that I started planning it some months back, I have changed the theme last minute a couple of weeks back and find myself unprepared.

The beautiful blue crown that I ordered from TwoLittleBluebirds on Esty isn't coming in time for the party! I gave her the wrong address like I gave almost everyone the wrong address to our new house. I guess that's what happens when you move some days before Christmas and a birthday party. She did work with me and try to get the crown to the house. I was very much happy and impressed with her service and know that I will be using her again for my crown.

Luckily I'll be able to make him a dinky little crown sown by me. I'd do away with the crown, but all the little kids are going to design their own crowns and wear them as party hats, I'll even have one. That's how negatives get turned into positives.

Photobucket

As you can see my 'working' station is a big mess with little projects for the party. Honestly, I should be focusing on that, but I'll just be staying up late today to get some things done since I was running errands and going to a business meeting in the evening.

Photobucket

The funniest part of today and the part where Little Guy and I truly enjoyed was having a mini-photo session for his birthday banner. We rolled around on the carpet, downstairs, growled at each other and played dress up. These moments make being a mommy better then any hidden treasure in the world.

Photobucket

The smile on his face when I charged towards him as he squeals a shriek was so fun. If time could stand still I would pick a moment like this, when all is right  in my world. Plus he's such a fun little boy with so much smiles, laughs and energy that even on a hard day he will make your day shine.

Photobucket

Along with the mini-session we had vacuum rides around the house. It must make him feel so grown up when he gets to stand on the vacuum and I ride him around the house because it seems like he almost holds his breath.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Not only does he like vacuum rides and climbing on it he also loves climbing period. He will find anything that he can climb and stand on.

Photobucket

My mom was smart enough to ask my brother if he can come over to watch the Little Guy. I'm glad they did because my brother is great with him. He even made him a little man our of a balloon and stuff he found around the house. I'm sure Little Guy blessed my brother too because it hasn't been the same for him since my nephews went to be with Jesus.

I hope that everyone has a great New Years! My next post will be in 2011 and I'm hoping for an incredible year full of photo-shoots, smiles, laughter, creatively, growth, life, friends and family.

Photobucket

Till next year!

Sorry for spelling and grammar errors, means I didn't have time to proof read. If this note is gone then I found the time.

A very Merry Christmas

My little family had a great time together with the big family.

Christmas is about celebrating Jesus' birth and I do celebrate it every day so when Christmas comes around not only do I thank God for our Lord Savior, I also love spending time with my extended family. I celebrate that we are alive, blessed and together.

Despite the fact that we, as an extended family, are divided and some are missing, gone forever, I still rejoice and cherish the moments when those who are at peace with each other come together.

I just love family gatherings. Spending time with family is such a blessing because honestly in the end that's all we have left. We are not able to take anything to heaven, but our souls and our families. I can go on for hours on how important family is and how that is getting destroyed, broken. So I won't get into something so deep and sad. I don't even know how I got here because I was going to say something else.

Anyway, we spent our Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family at my uncle's house. It's tradition. One of my favorite ones too! Can I say lots of food.

Photobucket

Everyone was to bring something. My mom and I got fruit and Oliveyea, Russian potato salad. We took home the left overs from the salad and I've been eating it for 2 days now, yummy!

The table was set very beautifully with red roses and candlelight. We even had our own little gift waiting prettily for us on our dinner plate decorate in a bow. Little touches like these can make anyone feel just as special as they are.

The desert table was filled with all kinds of goodies that excite the taste buds. From Neapolitan cake, fruit, to walnut shells filled with all kinds of goodness.

Followed by a dance routine my little cousin Bella had put together. She had worked on her number for weeks. It was truly a grand show, so grand that all the little kids have to do a number come next Christmas Eve.

The pork my uncle made was simply amazing. It was so good that it belonged on the desert table! Since I have a little baby sitting down for the whole meal with the family is unrealistic. All Little Guy wanted to do was walk. Most of my evening was spent walking him around the room or watching him while he played with legos. It was great though. My heart was full and happy.

Photobucket

There was so much going on during gift giving that I didn't get a chance to snap a photo. The kids were screaming because of their new Wii's that they got. Augustin was busy ripping open presents and then playing with the wrapping paper. It really was a wonderful moment for both the children and the parents. Of course Augustin didn't know what was going on, but that was expected. Next year there will be lots of excitement for him when his name keeps getting called to go get his present.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The kids had their own personal Christmas dinner table. Where was that when I was small?!

Photobucket

In all we had 12 adults and 6 kids. To me its small. We are usually a group of 17 adults and 8 kids. Despite that we managed to fill the house with love, laugher and lots of presents.

Photobucket

It was great!

Photobucket

Christmas Day was a lot more laid back. We spent it with my immediate family. All together that was 8 of us.

We headed for the mountains where we can truly enjoy a white Christmas, as it should be.

Photobucket

We spent Christmas European style at a Bavarian Village called Leavenworth. It's the closest to Europe we can get here in America.  It's really a cute little village that has great Christmas spirit. There were many people there from babies to elderly people with their families. Everyone was strolling the streets, eating ice cream, sledding down the hill, going to shops and eating with friends. What a great site it was!

Little Guy cuddled with Grandpa as we strolled the streets looking for something to eat. He was so curious about everything which made for a very quite and wide eyed baby. I guess he looked so cute that I had people asking me if they could take pictures of him. He was one popular guy.

Photobucket

My older brother really made a great father, but as an uncle... I'm not so sure! I mean that in every good way. My son likes to stay away from his Uncle Dieter because if he doesn't then he get a whole lot of cheek squeezing, bear hugs & squeezes in general. I think it's cute!

Photobucket

It was really a great time with family. When we found a restaurant that was open and serving good food we made ourselves feel like home.

Photobucket

Out came the spoon, beer, smiles and good food. Little Guy had the spoon, my hubby had the smile, my dad and brothers had the beer and then we all enjoy the great food.

Later, once it got dark, I wanted to go on a walk in the park. I just love walking in the dark when there is snow on the ground. It creates such peace and romance. Unfortunately my camera wasn't able to capture that nor the snowball fight, but it did capture some beauty and the time we had together.

Photobucket

To wrap up our day we enjoyed some good ol' ice cream on the 2 hour drive home. It was just what we needed after a cold snowy Christmas Day outside.

Happy Holiday's from my family to yours!!!

Christmas Cookies

Today came in three parts...
Part One: Skype with the In-Law's
Part Two: Christmas Shopping
Part Three: Baking Cookies

Looking back at today I didn't even get to truly enjoy the day for it went by before I could really breath in the smell of cookies, enjoy my son walking & truly hear the Christmas songs playing through Pandora. Maybe it's because when looking back everything seems to go so fast. Or it could be that I didn't get to dance around to Christmas music with my family, watch a movie while cuddling & laughing till tear rolled down our faces.

I'll have to save those for tomorrow since it's already so late.

Augustin did have a great time talking to his grandma in Slovakia via Skype. He showed her how he can walk, play and do all the things he loves to do during the day.

Photobucket

Like...

...Opening up "his" drawer to throw out all the bottles, pacifiers & bowls onto the ground just because all the babies are doing it, it's the cool thing to do.

Photobucket

...Drinking apple juice while watching 'Classical Baby' that I got to make all on my own from half an apple. I think he liked it too because he had drank most of his juice. I'm one of those mom's that likes to make my own baby food and juices. If I don't have the time, I like to stick to Earth's Best.

Photobucket

All this was possible thanks to hubby & me. We took turns holding the computer as we followed Little Guy around the house. His grandma even said it felt like she had just watched a movie. (They had spent lots of time together today, even grandpa joined later.)

Photobucket

He also figured out how to get up from the ground when he falls on his butt. I'm one proud momma here!

Photobucket

I do wonder at this kid sometimes... He loves asparagus! Is that generally something that babies like to eat? My Little Guy literally asks for more. He also really likes persimmons and pomegranates.

Photobucket

Since it was such a rainy and grey day compared to our sunny yesterday we just stuck around the house, but i did venture out to Fred Meyer for Christmas shopping. Once stop across the street and all presents bought. Success?

Photobucket

I took a couple of pictures of Little Guy in his cute 'Baby's First Christmas' outfit that he will wear for the next two days. I think it's too cute and yes it will be washed daily. He didn't want to take pictures, but he did want to eat his candy cane cookie and roll around on the carpet. Who knew that rolling around on the carpet was such a fun thing to do...

It was also a late morning for us so we skipped breakfast and had us some bunch which really was left over's from yesterday's yummy dinner with some egg. That's the Russian in me.

Photobucket

And since we had seafood last night, I thought that today would be another seafood day with shrimp Alfredo. Both dinners were amazing! I wish I could just keep this streak up and cook more amazing dinners.

Photobucket

I would like to say a big thank you for all the beautiful Christmas cards that we have received in the mail today. I just love picture Christmas cards. There's something so heart warming about seeing another family all together with bright smiles. It warms my heart and brings out the photographer in me.

I have yet to send mine out and will have to get to it after Christmas. Moving has thrown me way off into the left field. So please forgive me if you get it in June!

Photobucket

Now if anyone has seen my husband he has been in a need of a haircut for some time. After some scheduling issues I finally broke down and let him go to Hair Master's for a cut.

This is him before:

Photobucket

And this is what happened after:

Photobucket

Little Guy just stared at him for the longest time with such a serious face. We had a great laugh because he just couldn't get over hubby's hair. It took him a while to even touch it!

I'm glad I'm growing mine out.

I had decided to bake some cookies with Little Guy this Christmas. I didn't realize that I had never really baked cookies. It's something that I just don't do and want to change. So today was the day. I'm so glad I had my handy little helper with me or I'd just be lost.

Photobucket

He was actually glued to the bowl and wooden spoon. He only had this smile when he was helping.

Photobucket

No one could touch him while he was working or else he'd push you away and get frustrated.

Photobucket

The only way I was able to get the cookie dough back was to give him his own bowl and wooden spoon.

Photobucket

But of course!

Photobucket

The cookies turned out great and I shall be doing more baking! To quote my hubby, "They taste like Christmas." What a compliment!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Like I said Augustin was so glued to his baking that he fell asleep with the wooden spoon.
