All The Above

There are so many missed images and updates that I need to do from this past week and am saddened that I missed the boat, but I just might catch up to it. So here we go!
Last week Toddler and his friend went to the zoo together. It's amazing how much more fun it is to go to the zoo with a friend (even for us moms) then to go without one. Maia had the greatest idea of first letting the kids run out their energy at the zoomazium before getting lunch and seeing the animals. Let's just say that she's a genius! I have lots of ground to cover, so no details and on to the next best thing.

She makes having another baby tempting, but I'm not guaranteed one as amazing as this little girl.

I found a few cute images of Toddler when he was still such a little toddler. I get all emotional looking at them as I really see how much he's grown in the last year. He is such a sweet boy in so many ways! I, as a mother, need to just get used to the fact that he's growing up and will only get bigger because before I even know it he'll be my teenager. I know it's too soon to think like that, but all moms with them say it goes by so fast. My husband and I were having a discussion about Toddler yesterday. I asked him why Toddler had almost all of my traits in him, but my husband said that he didn't.
"So what does Toddler have that's yours then?"
My husband tells me, "He's got my looks and smarts!"
"Yes, your smarts, but not looks!" Thinking in my head that he's got mine!
"Whose hair color does he have?"
"Yours."
"Whose eye color does he have?"
"Yours."
"Whose noise does he have?"
Okay, Okay! My husband won that discussion. Toddler has my personality/creativity and my husbands looks/smarts.

It's officially fall! We are now picking acorns (there's like none in Seattle) and painting pumpkins (we celebrate fall and not Halloween)! We are also so excited for our playdate at our favorite farm celebrating Toddler's friends birthday this week. Oh the joys of pumpkin spice lattes, colorful leaves and all the yumminess that comes with this season.

That leaves me with all the pretty things that I've been doing this part week. There will now be many sewing projects added to my pretty pictures as I'm a new owner of a sewing machine!

Thursday = Playdate Day

Today's we had our regular playdate at my place where I got to dish out the yummy strawberries for the   boys who were busy playing.

I usually don't have people over to my house and sometimes wonder why. It's not like I live in a dump or have an ugly house. A big part of it is I never feel relaxed because I usually feel like I have to entrain my guests or they'll never want to come back. The only was to overcome those feelings is to plan more playdates. Plus they are good for the kids to be around other children, to learn to share and understand one another.

Thanks Maia for grabbing the camera and taking some shots!

The best part about friends over for a playdate is having to clean the house, to make sure all the little corners are in order. I sometimes need help getting myself into a cleaning mood as there seem to be 50 other things I could be doing, but clean. Who needs to see through their windows anyway? The other part that I got to do, before Maia and her cute family came over, was repaint my coffee table, which has been on my to-do list for some time. I didn't know which color I really wanted it to be painted to I painted it the color I thought I'd like. Turn out I didn't like the cold look of the color Soft Skies and repainted it a warm Bay Mist color.

Lovein' this color so much more!

It also has been just amazing how the weather is still so warm! Its like the dream fall I've been waiting for all my life! The mornings are gorgeous as the fog rolls in and then after 9am it's gone to reveal perfect sunshine. I haven't gone out and captured the fog yet, but plan on doing that tomorrow if it's still there. The leaves are also finally turning color and I've been inspired by everything fall at the studio as I work away on my images.
