July 2011 in Pictures

I took thousands of personal pictures in July for the blog, but never posted them for one reason or another. We'd get back from this amazing trip and I'd have a goal to post all about it, but something always happens to get me side tracked. So that means that I get to post about the whole month in just one post.

I always strive to do better next month and I'm hoping that I really will.

The month started out with no sign of summer expect for one day a week or something ridiculous like that. When the sun did shine and the temp got over 70 I let Augustin play in his little tub.

We also had a great Fourth with some fireworks and PJ dancing.

It was great to have my in-laws come for a month (mom is still here). We did many things together.

One of the biggest things we did this month was take Babers to his first haircut! Honestly I couldn't help, but tear up. I love his new cut, but miss the baby.

We went to Yakima for a just a day to visit my Aunt who broke both of her arm while picking cherries. While in Yakima we visited wineries and picked lots of cherries.

There was a trip to Vancouver BC and trips to the beach.

When it rained we visited the children's museum.

We had sick days, new toys and cute baby boys.

I got my dad to build me a cute little garden shed (still in progress). I have big plans for that thing.

Getting Better

Since yesterday Babers has had a fever that started at 101 and is now slowly climbing to 103. I don't want to say too much regarding that or details because I'm strongly believing that he will get better tomorrow. He has no choice! I have a wedding to shoot this Saturday and it will be so hard to focus when I know my Little Guy is at home sick.

So I've been speaking healing, praying for him and believing that it's only teething and it shall pass quickly.

When Babers comes down with a fever he, like most kids, usually wants to be held by me or want to lay on me in bed. I've been a happy pillow and a comforter to him. I can't complain because I love cuddling with him, I just wish it wasn't when he was sick.

I've been giving him ibuprofen every 8-10 hours or so to keep the fever down. Once he had his medicine in the afternoon he was able to pay a little with me and grandma.

I also went to the Imagine museum for kids to get him something like legos, but not. You can build many things with Maxamec (check it out!). We built Babers a fancy car and then I built him a ride on dinosaur that I ended up riding on for sometime because Babers was intimidated by it. I had a blast!

Because it was a toy I wanted him to grow into I went all out and got the XL set which coast me a pretty penny, but I'm happy I did it!

Besides that I bought some cool antique cameras the other day and a self from St. Vincent. I spray painted the self to freshen it up a bit and to match my color scheme. Okay, I'm spray paint happy right now!

DIY: stripped vases

With the little time that I have had since my in-laws have arrived I've been adding a new much needed colorful items to my house.

The great part is it takes me less then a half hour per project and less then $20 for the items I find at GoodWill.

My latest project was some new and fun glassware for my All Things Food project that I've started on Facebook. (Feel free to check it out!) I had already used up all my glassware and have just started to get bored with it all. So now I'm very much eager to serve up some yummy drinks with this project.

1. Bought some glasses/vases for $1 each at St. Vincent's
2. Wrapped/designed the vases with tape. I used the pictures tape below and won't again, it was hard to keep straight lines because it stretched.

3. After it was all taped up I first sprayed the vase with Frosted spray paint so that the actual spray paint will stick.

Photobucket

4. Once that dried in 15 min, I sprayed it with the desired color and let it dry in the sun for a half hour.
5. Then I peeled the tape off carefully and slowly.

Photobucket

6. And then voila!

If you try this let me know how yours turned out and if you tried and creative designs!

Night to myself

Today's been a great day, but it was an intense great day. I always had to be quick about everything or on top of things including my emotions.

The day is over and I'm spent. I need to reboot.

Movie, books, my inspirational notebooks, pinterest and some much needed fancy drinks are very much in order for this evening.

Tomorrow is a new day and at that a much better day!

Rough ends

I have several posts in the works, like three, but can't seem to post them for one reason or another.

There have been many trips to here and there with such beautiful pictures. I hope to be able to share the time that's I've had with the parents. This is our last full week with my father-in-law before he flies back to Slovakia and then we have my mother-in-law for a few more weeks.

I'm busy with work, play and guests doing everything half way or so it seems to me. It's also the type of day where all I really want to my book, some pink lemonade in a cute glass and a beautiful view with fancy seating.

Photobucket

Until the posts post themselves or I get what 'I really want' I'll leave you with just a few images that I often think about.

Guests & Cookies

On Saturday we welcomed my in-laws from Slovakia! My father-in-law will be staying for 2 weeks and my mother-in-law will be here for a whole month.

With all the photo-shoots I have scheduled and weddings it's going to be a happily busy month for us!

I love parties. I love having guest over. I love all things pretty that come with it. That includes putting cute finishing touches in the guest room and living room. Flowers! They are so welcoming, beautiful and create a serene atmosphere.

I also had to find time to bake for my baby brother who turned 26 in June. He is living in Tennessee for some months. I hope he likes his treats in the mail.

I'm hoping to keep up with my blogging during this busy season, but I'm not promising anything. Maybe I'll do quick and short posts like this one daily?

I'm also beginning a BIG project that requires a lot of work and attention. Hopefully I'll get the beginning stages finished so that I can share this exciting venture with everyone!
