Counting My Blessings

Instead of writing my blog today, I spent a few hours browsing everyone else's blog leaving me with a sense of how much more I need to learn and accomplish. I almost feel like a dot in a huge cup of talent. Did I say dot? I mean speck!

It reminds me how I don't have a dedicated studio full of buttons, ribbons and beautiful furniture, that I haven't wrote a book or haven't done anything really. At the same time I get to see where I will be in the next 5 years, the things I will be accomplishing and the awesome people I'll be meeting.

For now I must remember not to compare myself to those great people before me, but be thankful for my little accomplishments.

As I'm stepping away for two weeks (that's the goal), but I haven't managed to be 100% and spent lots of time with my camera taking whatever captures my eye. I have been spending more time writing, thinking about writing a book and watercoloring in my journal, oh and I spent some time decorating my living room.

Here are some (lots) pretty captured moments from last week. Some images turned out better than others.

I think it's been a few weeks now that we were at hubby's work picnic. I didn't blog about that day, but it was a good day. Toddler to this day remembers that he loves hay rides. It also amazes me how many people were at the picnic. Every year it just gets bigger and bigger!

Here are lots of bits and pieces for our last week.

Oh and I got to hang out with a talented photographer friend last week. It always makes my day when I get to hang out with my creative friends. I just love getting together with them as we spend lots of time chatting away and then creating. One of my dreams is to have regular tea parties with my creative friends as we make many beautiful things together. Who would like to join me?

Looking back at all of these beautiful images confirms to me how blessed I am. I have an amazing family, surrounded by wonderful friends and people and on top of that I get to stay home with my son to do what I love to do all day long! I count every single one of my blessings and deeply thank my God for it all!

The Traditional Image

Before I continue with my short post I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be unplugging for the next two weeks.

I've noticed myself getting edgy, feeling uninspired and not too sure what my next step is. So I'll be taking this time to get my priorities straight, clean my house, love on my family, but most importantly spend much needed time with God where nothing gets in the way. I've been such in a go go go season that I feel like I don't have a half hour to just sit still and listen. To me, it's a scary place to be as it's easy to get caught up and go the wrong direction.

Now on the to short post.

Every year my husband, son and I have a tradition we like to do. It's mostly a father-son things, but I'm the photographer in this tradition.

We go to a certain spot on Lake Washington during the summer and take a picture as close to the last one. We plan on doing this every year and then add my son's kids into the image in many years to come. Its fun to look back and see how he's grown, what has changed.

So here they are...

This yea I didn't bring my sample image so the angles are all off, but next year I'll align it all back in.

See you in two weeks!!
