Settling in

Can I say wow what a week it's been! I think I may be a rare few that has been able to paint, carpet, move, pack and unpack all within one week.

We got the key's to our First Home last Thursday. We had a goal of moving in on my husbands birthday and by golly we did it. With lots of cash flying around, great team work and lots of work, period, we were able to move in on such a short notice. Looking back I realize that's the way I prefer it. Instead of dragging it all out.

Our appliances arrived today, which leaves us with only a kitchen to paint. I'm so happy that tomorrow it will be all done. It's really stressful to live in a house without a usable kitchen. I'm really grateful to my brother who had sanded, primed and painted my whole kitchen all by himself in a matter of days. No longer is my kitchen a yucky wood color, but a nice cream color. I still have a lot of work to do on it to get it to where I want it, but that will come in due time.

I was also relieved when the baby gate was installed by my dad. He also had his trustily little helper to get the job done. If I ever doubted (which I didn't) that my son wasn't a boy today was the day he made it known. He just loved playing with my dads drill. He also loves playing with sticks and all the boys stuff. He's a boy 100% through and through. Next year this time I'm gonna force him to bake cookie with me!

I will be skipping the joys of decorating and baking for Christmas this year, insert tear. I have to get this house in order for Little Guy's first birthday part. The theme you ask? Its 'Wish upon a star' and I'm so excited. I did get a little Christmas tree. Next year will be grand, I promise!

Now for the BIG announcement! Little Guy is WALKING! He is taking good and strong steps. Also letting go of furniture to walk to another one. He'll be running by his birthday party. I'm so thankful for the baby gate. Little Guy do your worst!

I'm thinking I'll do a sneak peak of the house closer to the end of the month. It will be in a much better shape. I love it, it's beautiful and too big for my taste, but that's what I say now.
