So lately I've been on this Shabby Chic/Country French kick. I just can't get enough of it. I've become addicted to Flower shows, vintage shopping and checking out all the flea markets. There is just come really neat things and I'm just amazed to see how these women put all this junk together into something that inspires me. It's just B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and it's working for me.
I was one of those girls that couldn't put together a room even if I went to school for it. I had always loved pretty things and fine houses with all those beautiful rooms. I tried, but my room just wasn't close to anything I had envisioned. Then I got married. Figured out my style then lo and behold I did it.
My last house was cute. Everything came together somehow even without me planning it. I liked it! So much so that I miss that little house that is now too small for my family of 4.
With my new house the true me is coming out. I'm finally seeing why I could never design a room let alone a house. I wasn't designing it in my style. Now that I have found the love for Shabby Chic/Country French I can actually say I just love walking into my house. The atmosphere is warm, loving and bright.
I've spent last week really working on my house and this is house it turned out:
I've had my eye on my dad's house that my mom upholstered. Now it's finally mine! For months now I've been looking for the perfect console table for behind the couch and am so blessed I found this one. After I told the lady on Craigslist its mine there were many people trying to bribe the lady. Also my new love and little theme is birdies. They're so cute!
I have yet to finish the fireplace metal, which will be my last project. I've been wanting barstools for some time now also and found some simple ones make in Italy. With a little color I'm starting to really like them there.
I got more twigs (theme: birdies & nets) and decided to use my props that I bought for the Easter shoot. Might as well right with spring around the corner.
Speaking of spring I thought these would go great for adding some spring into my house and moving Christmas/winter out.
And last but not least is my entry way. I've been having lost of trouble coming up with something perfect, but with lots of thought and work I finally put it all together. No more shoes on the ground! You should come see it!
I took my camera to the Garden & Flower show and this is my favorite picture. I left that place with LOTS of inspiration and ideas. I'm so excited to go again next year. (Hey Steph, wanna come?)
Also here's my favorite little boy whom I love with all my heart. He's been going to sleep at 5pm for some days now and today we went to sleep at 6:30pm. Love him!
