A Couple Firsts

We managed a couple firsts today without really planning it.

Our first 'Firsts' was making it to Zumba classes at the local YMCA. We've had a membership there all Spring, but never managed to actually make any use of it. It's one of those things where something would always come up. Last week I had a shopping date with a friend, the week before that we were... I don't remember. Oh, we arrived to the classes once they ended because someone messed up the times when it starts.

Let's just say that my mom and I were very proud of ourselves for actually showing up. We only stayed for a half hour since it was our first time and are excited to make it a part of our regular routine.

I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the class was at the Y. I went to one a few months ago and didn't really care for it, but the Y makes it fun. That's a huge reason why I'm going back.

Our second 'Firsts' was having one of Toddler's favorite friends over to play without her mom. I believe it was also her first real time at a stranger's house (me) without her mom.

The first half of her stay they played so nicely. They even managed to share markers without a big fuss. It was also so cute hearing them run around the house yelling and screaming (I'm way cool with kid noise, I even scream along).

When it came to nap time things went sour and quick! She realized her mommy wasn't around. Needless to say, neither one of them napped, but ended up watching "Little Bear" instead. I'm thankful that she was able to bounce back after the show.

The rest of their time was spent hugging, lovin' on each other, eating, running, laughing, getting tickled and just having fun.

While this was all happening I got to enjoy a good read of the new Spring edition of Artful Blogging, probably my favorite magazine out there. It's filled with so many beautiful stories, images and load of inspiration. I'm hoping that one day by blog will be featured. Once I publish this post I'm getting right back into it.
