Playing the Ketchup Game

No, I don’t throw ketchup on the floor and slide all over the house going, “Weee!” If that Were to happen then I’d be watching Augustin crawling all over the place probably trying to lick it all off the floor. Floor cleaning service!
I game goes some like this:
Write a HUGE to-do list
Sweep the house
Run around the house multi-tasking
Squeeze in a 30min nap
Clean
Craft
Work
Sweep the house
Cook
Play with Agustin
Chase chickens
Yard work
Sweep the house
Think about work
Think about the HUGE to-do list
Sweep the house again
Yeah... that’s been my cycle the past two days since I got back from Phoenix Saturday night.
Honestly I don't even know what today is. I think its Tuesday, but I have no clue how that happened!
Traveling always throws me way off my course. Whenever I come back from a trip I’m so disorganized and not able to focus. I haven’t even unpacked or folded 4 loads of laundry and we are driving to Boise, Idaho on Friday for the weekend. Shish!
I miss the hot weather in Phoenix. While we were there it got up to 101 degrees. Pure bliss! I’m very much a lover of hot weather. For some reason I had allergies. My eyes burned the whole time with runny nose and so on. Let's just say all the pictures didn't turn out unless I wore sunglasses. It was pretty though...

Got to have a photo-shoot with this incredible family!

This trip was good and interesting all at the same time. I went with my best friend. I brought my hubby with me and she brought her sister with her. It turned into a trip we took together, but spent it separately.

During working hours I spent the time with Heli and her sister then durning the evening I picked up my hubby from work (we was there on a business trip for his job) and we would hang out, which consisted of eating, driving around and checking out some cool things.

Without even being able to recoup or reorganize from the trip I dived into Mother’s Day festivities. It worked out great because I hadn’t seem my little man for many days and Mother’s Day was the perfect excuse to go shopping for a new suite jacket (my third one this week), a fun time at the park and out to eat, which meant I didn’t need to think up of  what to make for dinner. It was the perfect Mother’s Day with the best two men in my life.

That leads us into yesterday. I don’t remember much of yesterday except playing The Ketchup Game, a long nap from Augustin, skype with grandma and smiles from my happy toddler, both his parents were home. Oh, making sure that hubby had rest, tea and food for a quick recovery.

Which brings us into today. Besides The Ketchup Game, I got a little time to get a few things for the house, make a quickie craft and let Augustin watch too much Caillou on my computer, besides Caillou to keep Augustin busy I taped him. It kept him busy while he was trying to take it off and let me do the work I needed to.

After the trip I just feel like I am living in a zoo! There are stuff everywhere and everything just looks so plain, boring and ugly. I just didn’t feel comfortable until I freshened things up.

I also figured out that working with Augustin when it’s just me and him is a big fat no-go. I’ll just have to really stick to my work schedule from 7pm-11pm with all the work that I have and then my dad’s wedding is this week. I’m starting to feel a little overwhelmed and like I’m being stretched too thin.
How are people able to balance being a good mom, have a clean house, food on the table, work completed, chickens feed & everything else they need to do. I guess I’m not cut out to be super woman.
But I will try to be one tomorrow, but tonight I’m satisfied with all that I did today even though my to-do list is still staring me in the face!

One more thing... Before the trip I was working on Augustin’s room. He now has a really cute tent fort that my dad build and I decorated. I tried to make it look pretty, but not girly. It’s a place where he can play, read and drink his formula. Really it’s a place I try really hard not to be in all day long.
