In This Moment

For me, it's hard to be fully present. My mind is usually multitasking, whether its thinking about dinner or my new idea I just had for a photo-shoot. I want to be present for my son and therefore work on it daily. Sometimes its easier then other times. For instance this weekend was a mixture. When the sun was out I was there, feeling, being, tasting, laughing and so very present. As the sun disappeared behind the clouds for the next few days I did too.

Friday actually felt like summer! It was sunny, warm and there was no way we could spend the day indoors.

Lucky for us, my best friend happened to be sick all of last week (not the sick part) and was recovering at home. Since I too was on the mend from strep we decided to meet up and go to Greenlake for the day.

It was the best thing that I have done in months. I'm not one to be cooped up at home. I can get depressed, irritated and aren't myself in anyway. I'm not sure if anyone can relate, but I know I'm not the only one. Every winter is a trail for me. I have to work hard on finding things that I enjoy doing to keep my focus in the right spot.

Before we had long walk around the lake we stopped by a cute little cafe and had lunch.

I was surprised, they actually had a sandwich that Babers actually enjoyed eating. I was a such a proud momma that I kept telling everyone throughout the weekend about it.

After the great time with Heli we got to pick up Hubby from Marysville. He took the wrong bus! It was a 45min detour and we had a party to go to that evening.

Luckily we weren't late for the party! Our friends recently had babies and we got to celebrate two precious lives. Augustin finally has some friends and I'm sure there are more to come.

Saturday was a blur. The weather made me sleepy for I walked around the house half in it wishing for a nap. I only managed to snap a few pictures, but those weren't that great.

Father's Day was more or less the same thing. I slept in so there went Hubby's breakfast in bed. I did manage to recover when he took a nap after church.

While everyone was napping I got to put together the brunch in bed. It was my first time doing egg benedict and it turned out delish!!
