Winter Walks | Week One, Day Four

Since my husband started his new job this past February my son and I stopped going for walks. In that season I also started my business Inspired Knits, which keeps me busy at home. All of this makes it really hard to just get outside, finish work, school, clean and cook all before the end of the day. There's also the fact that I really don't try to make it all happen because it can overwhelm me. Its possible to reach for the moon, but some days you just don't want to. Maybe it's most day not just some.

Despite all my excuses I know going outdoors is needed for Augustin and I. It's healthy, gets my sons appetite going and work isn't so hard afterwards. Yesterday I decided that we should and would go outside for a morning walk before our day really started. In the morning the idea no longer sounded as good as it did when I was falling asleep the night before. I still decided that we are going even though it took about 1.5 hours to actually get out of the house. Cuddles are so sweet when you know you need to go somewhere.

I am so happy I made the commitment to go out! While we were outdoors on our walk it started to snow and then out of no where it REALLY started to snow. It was so beautiful and breathtaking. My thoughts on winter are, if it's going to be cold for the winter then it needs to snow or all that cold weather is simply pointless. This means I really love snow. To me, it's a little bit of magic and a gift of beauty from God. Everything is covered in white, all is clean, peaceful and quiet. Reminds me of what Jesus does to our hearts when we invite Him in.

I hope that this year is a really snowy year for us here in Slovakia. I want new snow every week and for it to stay. I want to hear the snowflakes fall on the ground because that's the prettiest sound to my ears. I want to go to the Christmas markets in the snow. I want to go sledding with my whole family. Plus knitting is so much better when it's actually snowing outside.

Coming home after a snowy winter walk I am always drawn to make a cup of tea and cozy up in a corner while staring out the window in a dream. There is nothing more comforting then that hot cup of tea in your hands. It's its own kind of magic.

Now that all of this has been said and the images edited and upload, I must add, it took 4 hours to complete this blog! Memories are worth it.
